What a Fantastic Show !!! I Wonder if Ringo got a Headache from Bopping His Head Up and Down So Much? Better watch out, you might get more requests for I Am a Walrus LOL LOL

The Beatels replied: Glad you liked it... We haven't done I Am The Walrus for about 2 years, so it was a bit of a test of the memory! We're sending Ringo down to Bob Janes for a re-alignment, so he should be fully repaired soon...

I've listened to the WHAT album... WOW maan, abeatlesolutely fab-ntastic.....!!!!! I'd wonder if I can make it a cd package complete with description exclusively for Indonesian fans....

The Beatels replied: Hi Bowie. I'm surprised no-one has done it already. I'm expecting to pick up a copy of this disc next time I'm browsing Bugis Street in Singapore! I'll discuss it with the lads and will let you know.

Dear Beatels, Me and my partner went to see you guy last night at Easts Leagues Club. Steve (Paul) did not appear to be at his best last night as he sounded like he was having a bad cold? Or was it the microphone? Regardless, he managed to belt out the tunes. And the broken string incident just made it more interesting! Despite all those problems, you guys still are amazing. The 3 part harmonies, accuracy are impeccable. If anything to criticise, I guess the use of Gretsch on 'Nowhere Man' as the lead sounded a bit dull. Probably you can use the Strats instead, just like The Beatles did? I was actually hoping to hear more obscure songs (post Help!album) last night, but was a bit disappointed with the normal repertoire. I guess last night show was more catered for the non hard core fans. Can you let us know the next time you're planning to play songs like 'Happiness is A Warm Gun', 'Sexy Sadie', 'Hey Bulldog', and Abbey Road Medley. Hope to see you again soon!

The Beatels replied: Glad you enjoyed the show...it was a tough one for us as we are all currently battling colds and flues at the moment. As I was singing (pretend Paul here) I was hearing myself and thinking "is that me?; I sound sick". Doing Nowhere Man was a last minute decision as we were working out what we could sing with our various diseases. We did not think we would need the strat so we did not have it with us...we generally bring about 10 guitars to do a show, depending on the songs we are going to be playing. Sorry about that; we do pride ourselves on using the right guitars but it is not always possible. On the topic of album tracks, we would love to do some of the rarer songs as well, but in "club-land" you have to be careful. There was a club we used to do regularly (once a year, every year) until one gig we played "The Night Before"...somebody complained to the duty manager saying we were playing songs nobody had heard before...and we have never been asked back. When we put on "special shows", like the Vanguard gigs we have done in the past, we usually pull out the rare gems for the hard-core fans; but in club-land you have to cater to the lowest common denominator, sadly. We are planning a Vanguard show for sometime in October...hope to see you then!

Hi Beatels. Loving the What Album. Listened to it in the car on the way to work. Got tickled in all the right spots thanks. It's the first time I drove to work with a smile on my face. The harmonies are lovely and instrumentation is spot on. ( And thanks to my tech savvy friend for downloading it for me. "Friend - "You have to unzip the zip" Me - "what?" )

The Beatels replied: Hi DiiDee, Thank you for that lovely review...we hope everyone grabs a copy of our album, because it is free! Glad you are enjoying it. I hope your tech savvy friend told you to burn it on a disc "with no space between tracks"; that way it runs from track to track seamlessly.

Dear Beatels! I'm a big Beatles fan for many years. That is why I was very very dissapointed yesterday when you decided to cancel the show in Ho Chi Minh city last Sunday. No words could express my disappointment. I know many people felt the same. Did you usually cancel gigs like that? I got my first class tickets for myself and my girlfriend only to get the money back. I don't want the money, I just wanted a good show.

The Beatels replied: Hi Barry, I'm afraid the HCM City gig being cancelled was completely out of our control. The promoter - Tran Hoang An of An5media - cancelled the show at the last minute to save himself some money because the ticket sales were low for that show. We were totally pissed off, & I can promise you we will never be doing anything with an amateur like him again. The decision to cancel was not ours, & we were very upset at having come all that way & not playing that gig - it was actually the gig we were most looking forward to doing in Vietnam, as we had done it twice back in 2005. We've never had anything like that happen to us before in the 13 years we have been playing, and we were gobsmacked by his unprofessionalism. If we ever come back to Vietnam again, it will only be with a cast-iron guarantee from the promoter that nothing like this ever happens again.

You guys were so amazing, I ripped my vocal chords screaming for you, seriously! Really, the voices, the ACCENTS, the costumes, instruments, everything was perfect! Thanks Marcus for giving me your pick =p And Steve, sorry if I creeped you out by hugging you too many times. Well it was brilliant, and you can see that cause the audience to get up and dance like that... Me and my friends got tickets for the back and half wanted you to say, "Will all the people in the cheaper place clap your hands, and if the rest of you'll just rattle your iPods". but the guards finally saw that we were the biggest fans there so they let us go in front (but we were still stopped from rushing onstage and like raping one of you) If you're curious who kept screaming too much, that was us =) Sorry, but it was great, and I got so overwhelmed with tears during "Something" cause I thought it actually was George. Your show is a great experience for any music lover. You guys have the best job in the world XD Keep it up Peace n love! pleaaaaaaaaaase reply to me =p

The Beatels replied: Hi Sukriti, Thanks for the kind email - very much appreciated! We really enjoyed that show. It's a pity that the promoter turned out to be an idiot - he cancelled the HCM City show at the last minute to try to save some money for himself, which totally ticked us off. You don't fly all the way to another country to sit in a hotel room. So if you saw us at the Hanoi show, you were the lucky ones :) It might be a while before we ever get back to Vietnam, so I'm glad you got to see the show :)

Sorry for double entry but: I loved both halves of the show! In the first bit, god, we went wild, especially to the songs we could sing along and dance to, like Twist n Shout THANK YOUUUU for playing Chuck Berry's Roll Over Beethoven! Oh can i just say, Marcus's George was spot on! We totally spasmed everytime he did the George-Dancy-Feet Thing, or the Harrison-Head Flick and the voice was so amazing GAHHHH you guys have to come back to Hanoi really soon... this time I'll save up for the tickets up front and not have to rush past the guards (they had sticks n stuff!) Keep on rocking! Oh yeah, and when you sang "all you need is love" we started hugging a bunch of random people, it was so great! The Beatles music (through you guys) really brought everyone together! Anyway Peace and love and Bruce, you're adorable!

The Beatels replied: Hi again, We had actually planned to do a bunch more of the ballad-type numbers that night, but we just decided on the spur of the moment to change the set list around & do more of the upbeat songs, Beethoven included... Glad you enjoyed it :)

Hi guys, I stumbled upon this website today after not even thinking about the band for years and years. I used to live in Sydney (have since relocated to London 12 years ago) and used to follow you guys around the clubs in the 90s. I don't know how many times my friends and I saw you - you probably thought we were stalkers, but we just enjoyed the music so so much. It was such a great act and I'm sure it still is. I now have a baby daughter and am already educating her into listening to the Beatles at 6 months old!! If you guys ever come to the UK it would be fab to take a trip down nostalgia lane and to show a whole new generation how good the Beatles music can sound live! Now I know the website, I'll keep an eye out for news. All the best, Michelle xx

The Beatels replied: Great to hear from you again Michelle...it's been a while, and it's good to hear you're doing well...London - very nice! We were there for a few weeks in 2004, & we loved it, but it's such a long way from this end of the world! Though you never know - we might make it back there again some time...thanks for keeping in touch :)

Hi Lads. I have watched and admired your show since 1991 (Pre Beatels!) probably about 10 times over the years. (Several of those at the General Bourke!) None of the other tributes stack up - I've seen a few. So I'll join that scouser Dave (previous posts..) and ask when are you blokes heading to the Gold Coast or at least South East Queensland? I'll hope to be seeing him tomorrow so we will try another tactic - Free beer anyone? Cheers, keep up the good work! John

The Beatels replied: Hiya John, thanks for saying hi...wow, the General Bourke - that was a long time ago...that was a great gig to play, & we did it quite a bit for a while there. As for making our way up to the sunnier end of Australia, believe me, we haven't forgotten our northern friends...hope to make it all happen so we can see you sometime soon...

Now you've hit the big time !!!!! In case you didn't know, you lot were on Domestic Blitz last night in all your silken finery and bazooka in tow. Nice of you to lend a hand to a good cause (and give us fans a thrill in between shows). Well done :)

The Beatels replied: Thanks Diidee. It was a lot of fun, we got a few funny looks walking around the streets of Chatswood in our Peppers attire; we even stopped the traffic a couple of times! Luckily the NRMA was close at hand (Hi Brian)...that was the bit you didn't see on telly.

Wow, I nearly choked on my tea when I saw you guys in the double decker on Domestic Blitz!! You all came across really well and it looked like the family loved it. Gee, you're a dead ringer for John, Bruce. Has any more info come to hand regarding the elusive Gold Coast gig? Take care fellas.

The Beatels replied: Thanks Dave. It was fun to do the Domestic Blitz thing, and a real treat for the family. Unfortunately no good news regarding the Gold Coast at this stage...

Alright lads! Just calling in again to ask if you're coming up here soon. This happened once before, when I came to your door, no reply. They said it wasn't true, but I saw you peep through your window. Cheerio!

Hi guys. I've been to see your show several times and I'm always blown away. So it was such an honour for me to play bass behind Bruce at that jam at Carlingford in December. My only regret is that he left before I had a chance to have a chat. Thanks Bruce, and happy new year.

The Beatels replied: Hey Robbie, thanks for the kind words, but frankly it was an honour to be amongst so many talented musos - including yourself - and what a great night it was! Onya Ian & Caroline for the annual Xmas bash! Happy 2009 to you & all our fans too!

Rumour has it that your management are also putting together another show. Are you guys in it?? Or is it "just a rumuor" Beatle Magic??? Would love to see it. What songs are you doing in it? Where can we see you??

The Beatels replied: ROTFL! No...not us. We're a band, not a franchise. Could be another group that wants to escape a bad reputation for whatever reason, although that could just be a "rumuor"... And anyway, should we bea carefool? :)

Hey guys! Just dropping by to say hi - and hoping that you get a chance to come back to Adelaide some time soon! Haven't seen you for aaaggges - and a Beatels-less Adelaide is a very boring place! (Well, it's not that bad, but we'd LOVE to see you here again!). Very much enjoying checking out the site, though, and seeing what you've been up to. Hi Guys, I think you sound & look great and am big Beatles fan and experienced musician (I also play for a Beatles group called Get Back - no dress ups, just the music). Haven't seen you live yet, but only have one suggestion. It seems you use a lot of backing tracks especially for the later Beatles stuff, or do you have somebody behind the curtain playing a keyboard? It would be cool if you could get a live musician to play the stuff and stick them at the the back as not to detract from the show. It just looks weird when you only see the drummer and bassist playing, but hear this full sound. Hope you don' take this as negative criticism :-) Other than that you are amazing, just from what I've seen on the net, probably the best tribute I've come across and I've had a look at a lot of sites to get ideas for my own show. The outfits are spot on. Cheers.

The Beatels replied: Hi JP, as for the backing tapes, you can argue for & against them, but we want to recreate the sounds of the album, which even the actual Beatles themselves didn't do for a large section of their recording careers. Penny Lane without a horn solo wouldn't sound right to our ears, I Am The Walrus needs strings, etc. We just stick to the rule of putting on tape just the bits that The Beatles didn't do, & we perform live what the 4 Beatles did...But thanks for dropping by & leaving a note!
